Ava Lin, One of a Kind—A Cover Reveal!
Perhaps you’ve already caught a glimpse of this cover on my social media channels, but I’m officially announcing it here today: It’s the cover of Book Two of the series, AVA LIN, ONE OF A KIND! (***the crowd roars!***)
Yes, Book Two of AVA LIN is on it’s way, due for release on January 14! There are more shenanigans in store for our fun and funny heroine, as she embarks on a mission to win the most kindness tickets in school for a special prize. I had so much fun drawing this one (I think I would enjoy a future in sticker design!) and I can’t wait for readers to get their hands on this next book. Pre-order info here—and if you order from Linden Tree, I’ll sign your book and include a special pre-order goody!
Ava Lin, Best Friend!
Of course, if you don’t yet have Book 1, BEST FRIEND!, what are you waiting for?Filled with funny and relatable moments, Ava Lin is starting first grade and eager to find a best friend, except she’s not quite sure how. Thank you to those of you who have sent me photos of your young readers enjoying the book! I’ll be giving away another signed copy this month—Like or comment on this post for a chance to win! (U.S. shipping addresses only (?).
If you have read it and feel so inclined, I would love if you would leave a review for the book and help spread the word!
On the Road with Ava Lin!
I have been having a great time celebrating AVA LIN all over the country: Thank you to Linden Tree Books (Los Altos, CA), The Reading Bug (San Carlos, CA), Children’s Book World (Los Angeles, CA), Newtonville Books (Newton, MA), Brookline Booksmith (Brookline, MA), and Yu and Me Books (New York, NY) for hosting me for events and stock signings—and to all of the wonderful support of those who came out to see me! You can now find signed copies and special stickers/bookmarks at any of these local indie bookstores! Here are some photo highlights from my tour:
Thank you to all of these wonderful people and more for coming out and celebrating with me!

There have been so many new releases that I am excited to read! Here are just a few:
Scare School Diaries by Jarrett Lerner, a new sweet and spooky chapter book series with lots of illustrations, releasing on July 16
Erno Rubik and his Magic Cube written by Kerry Aradhya, illus. by Kara Kramer, a new picture book biography about the creator of the Rubik’s Cube, out now
There is a Door in This Darkness by Kristin Cashore, a contemporary YA about a girl’s personal struggles that give way to bizarre, magical clues, out now
Enjoy your summer!
I know it looks like I am working on my book stuff all the time (and I kind of do), BUT I’m also spending some time with my family enjoying my Greece! We try to come every summer and hang out at my in-laws house, drink peach juice, catch bugs, swim in the sea, and eat paidakia.
I hope you’re also doing something enjoyable this summer! Happy summer and happy reading!
Loved the series opener for Ava Lin and look forward to rdg the sequel. (Hopefully #BookAllies will get an early look at it!)
